OCAHS CEO Marty Guthmiller Receives Excellence in Leadership Award

Orange City Area Health System (OCAHS) has shared that CEO Marty Guthmiller received an award at the Iowa Hospital Association’s 96th annual meeting.

Guthmiller, OCAHS CEO since 1994, was awarded the Excellence in Leadership award. The prestigious honor recognizes Guthmiller’s visionary leadership, dedication to compassionate care, and commitment to advancing healthcare throughout Northwest Iowa. Director of Finance for Orange City Area Health System, Chris Sietstra, says Guthmiller’s impact goes beyond measure.

According to the Iowa Hospital Association, the award is “presented to an Iowa hospital or health system CEO who has demonstrated notable achievement in administration of the organization and who has contributed to the broader areas of health care or health policy.” Sietstra says Guthmiller’s presence is felt not only locally but in healthcare as a whole.

Guthmiller’s connection to Orange City runs deep as he was a 1982 graduate of Northwestern College and a 1990 inductee into the Northwestern College Athletics Hall of Fame. Guthmiller is sixth all-time on Northwestern’s rushing list with 3,147 career yards.

Guthmiller served in the CFO role at Sanford Sheldon from 1990 to 1994 before beginning his career at Orange City Area Health System.
