FEMA is opening a Disaster Recovery Center in O’Brien County Wednesday to provide one-on-one help to people affected by severe storms, tornadoes and flooding this spring. Recovery specialists from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration will provide information on available services, explain assistance programs and help survivors complete or check the status of their applications. The O’Brien County Disaster Recovery Center will be located at the Sheldon City Hall – 416 9th St. Hours will be from 1-6pm Wednesday, July 24, then daily from 8am to 6pm.
FEMA funding is available to homeowners and renters in 26 counties including Cherokee, Clay, Emmet, Dickinson, Lyon, O’Brien, Plymouth, Sioux, and Woodbury counties.
To save time, please apply with FEMA online or by phone before visiting a Disaster Recovery Center. They are open daily 8 a.m.– 6 p.m.
