Noteboom Oil in Orange City will receive a $30,000 grant for assisting its retail E15, known as unleaded 88, infrastructure.
The grant is part of a larger $2 million in cost-share grants to expand renewable fuel infrastructure across the state.
Statewide Investment
The $30,000 award is part of a broader statewide initiative announced by Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig. During its July 29 meeting, the Renewable Fuels Infrastructure Program (RFIP) Board approved more than $2 million in cost-share grants to support 38 E15 and biodiesel projects across Iowa.
The total $2.03 million awarded breaks down as follows:
- Ethanol Projects: 24 approved projects totaling more than $1.43 million.
- Biodiesel Projects: 14 approved projects totaling more than $604,000.
The cost-share funding helps fuel retailers statewide offset the expense of modernizing pumps and tanks, expanding access to lower-cost fuels while opening bigger markets for Iowa corn and soybean farmers.
E15 Availability
Not all states allow the sale of E15 year-round. The Senate is still debating allowing the sale of E15 nationally year-round in their farm bill draft.
