The Northwestern College football team kicks off the 2026 season Thursday night when they play at F-C-S Western Illinois. After finishing last season with a 6-and-4 record, and missed the NAIA Playoff’s for the first time since 2016, Head coach Matt McCarty thinks his team is motivated.
McCarty says the team believes in themselves.
Colby Duncan returns as the starting quarterback, and McCarty says it could be a special season for Duncan.
The Red Raider defense returns 8 starters from a squad that led the NAIA giving up just 12.6 points per game.
