On Tuesday morning (March 12th) just before 7:00, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a motor vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of Jackson Avenue and Highway 18, three miles west of Boyden.
31-year old Ermilia Ramirez was driving a 2008 Ford Escape eastbound on Highway 18. While, 35-year old Bryan Leth of Sheldon, IA, was driving a 1971 Ford westbound on Highway 18. Ramirez attempted a left turn onto Jackson Avenue and the two collided in the intersection.
No injuries were reported. Estimated damages to each vehicle was $5,000.
Ramirez was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and failure to yield making a left turn.
