A newer boat was destroyed in a fire on Friday, May 8th, 2026, near Hull.
According to Hull Fire Chief Greg Van Roekel, at about 6:30 p.m., the Hull Fire Department was called to the report of a boat on fire while attached to a pickup at 3119 290th Street, about two miles north and nearly two miles west of Hull.
When firefighters arrived, Van Roekel says they found the boat fully engulfed in flames. Crews used water and foam to extinguish the fire.
Van Roekel says no injuries were reported.
He says the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
Chief Van Roekel reports that the newer boat was totaled in the blaze, while the pickup pulling it was not damaged.
He says firefighters were on the scene for about half an hour.
