The Sioux Center Police Department is excited to announce the addition of Izaak Hoey as a new school resource officer at Sioux Center Christian School.
In his role, Hoey will be a visible and positive presence at the school, working to enhance safety, security, and community relations. He will collaborate with Officer Kyle Munneke, the SRO for the Sioux Center Community School District. The position is funded by Sioux Center Christian School. During school breaks, Hoey will assist with regular patrol duties and code enforcement.
Police Chief Josh Koedam welcomed Hoey to the team: “It’s exciting to get Izaak on board as another SRO in Sioux Center. I look forward to seeing Izaak make the SCCS SRO position his own, and he will be a great asset to the school, school district, police department, and community.”
Hoey expressed his enthusiasm: “I’m privileged to have this opportunity to return to the area and serve not just Sioux Center but also the SCCS community. I look forward to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for students, staff, and families.”
Previously, Hoey worked with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office in South Dakota and the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office as a correctional officer. A Northwestern College graduate, Hoey grew up in Paullina and Orange City and has served for 8 years with the Iowa National Guard, currently based out of Le Mars.
Hoey, who enjoys hunting, fishing, and working on old cars, looks forward to moving to Sioux Center.
