A new Highway 75 closure begins today, between 9th St. S to 5th St. S. For now, the 9th St. S intersection with Highway 75 will remain open to east-west traffic.
To get around the closure, officials ask motorists on Highway 75 to split depending on direction of travel. Northbound Highway 75 traffic should take 1st Ave. SE past the Sioux Center Christian School. Southbound Highway 75 traffic should take 2nd Ave SW past Heritage Village. This will help decrease traffic past the Christian School, which currently has heavy construction traffic.
This new closure is to allow an excavating crew to begin utility & underground work north of 9th St. S.
The next construction update meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at the Sioux Center Public Library’s meeting room. City staff and engineers will share a project update, and members of the public will have an opportunity to ask questions.
