New Closure Affects Frequently Used Route Along Highway 75

The new intersection of Highway 75 and 13th Street South in Sioux Center will be closed beginning Monday, May 20th, due to the continued Highway 75 construction project.  Motorists will still be allowed to use 14th Street SE, near Sioux County Livestock to access Highway 75 South, which is currently not paved.  Highway 75 will be closed north of this intersection.

The 13th Street South closure is anticipated to continue for at least one week, depending on the weather.  Crews will be doing utility and storm sewer work in that area to prepare for paving.  The truck route around Highway 75 construction continues to be from 20th Street SE to 13th Avenue SE, to 20th Street NE.

Officials again ask motorists for patience and to drive with extreme caution in Sioux Center as traffic increases on roadways that typically don’t see a lot of traffic.
