A George man was injured Saturday afternoon after losing control of his motorcycle north of Boyden.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says a 15-year-old male from Boyden was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado southbound on Kennedy Avenue shortly before 4:35 p.m. A 2013 Harley-Davidson operated by 61-year-old Paul Koerselman of George was following the pickup.
Authorities say the minor slowed for pheasants crossing the road near the intersection of Kennedy Avenue and 310th Street. Koerselman was unable to slow down in time and lost control of the motorcycle.
The sheriff’s office says that Koerselman was transported by Boyden Ambulance with non-incapacitating injuries. The motorcycle sustained an estimated $2,000 in damage.
The accident occurred about one mile north of Boyden.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Boyden Ambulance and the Boyden Fire Department.
