The Iowa Department of Education today (Mon) announced nine teachers as the first-ever Regional Teachers of the Year.
Beth Oolman, a middle school language arts teacher at MOC-FV, has been named Northwest Regional Teacher of the Year.
Oolman has taught at MOC-Floyd Valley for her entire career., and has held positions teaching 7th grade English, 8th grade English, 8th grade American History, and Senior Basic Communications. She has also served as an assistant HS Volleyball coach and as a HS and MS cheer coach. She also serves as the 6-12 ELA Curriculum Specialist for the District.
Oolman, and the eight other Regional Teacher of the Year winners will now serve as finalists for the 2025 Iowa Teacher of the Year award, which will be announced later this year. Regional winners were nominated by educators, students, families, and fellow Iowans.
