MOC-Floyd Valley Principal to Teach Leadership Course at NCC

MOC-Floyd Valley High School Principal Levi Letsche will lead an upcoming course at Northwest Iowa Community College focused on developing practical leadership skills through daily growth.

The Power of Daily Growth in Leadership will be offered Friday, November 6th, from 1 to 4 p.m. on the NCC campus. Registration is due October 30th, and the class is limited to 30 participants.

Speaking on Sioux County Radio’s The Daily Grind, Letsche said leadership opportunities extend beyond people with supervisory titles.

“I think a lot of times when you think through, whether you’re afforded a title or not, there’s opportunities to lead.”

The adult education course emphasizes leadership through influence, with an emphasis on strengthening communication, improving teamwork, and developing habits participants can apply within their organizations.

Letsche plans to divide the three-hour course into three parts, moving from personal responsibility to communication and team leadership.

“The first part of the session will be focusing on leading yourself well, and then we’ll transition into session two, which is the communication piece of leading others. And then what does it look like in session three to bring that together, your self-leadership communicating well to lead a team towards growth or towards better efficiency, you name it.”

Participants will explore personal ownership, effective workplace communication, and building teams grounded in trust and accountability. Letsche also plans to examine the different ways people communicate with those they influence.

Registration information is available through NCC’s website.
