Missouri Man Arrested in Hull on OWI, Child Endangerment Charges

A Missouri man is facing multiple charges in Sioux County after authorities say he was operating a semi while impaired with a child in the vehicle.

According to court documents, 34-year-old Meldin Mujanic of St. Louis, Missouri, was arrested on March 18th following an incident late the night before in Hull.

Authorities say the situation unfolded around 11:23 p.m. on March 17th along Division Street, just north of Highway 18, when Mujanic reportedly got his commercial vehicle stuck while attempting to enter a parking lot.

Court records indicate Mujanic had his 14-year-old daughter in the vehicle at the time.

Officers who responded to the scene conducted a probable cause search and say they located a marijuana joint inside the vehicle. Investigators also reported signs of impairment and noted the odor of marijuana coming from Mujanic.

According to the affidavit, Mujanic was taken to the Hull Fire Department for field sobriety testing, where he showed additional indicators of impairment. A preliminary breath test showed a blood alcohol content of 0%, but further drug recognition testing also indicated impairment.

Authorities say Mujanic later consented to a urine test after being transported to the Sioux County Jail, and preliminary results indicated the presence of illegal substances. The sample has been sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation for confirmation.

Mujanic has been charged with:

-Operating While Under the Influence – 1st offense

-Possession of a Controlled Substance – marijuana (1st offense)

-Child Endangerment

The child endangerment charge stems from allegations that Mujanic placed the minor at risk while operating the vehicle under the influence.

Court records also show Mujanic has prior arrests in Missouri related to drug possession and driving while intoxicated in 2016 and 2025, though disposition details were not immediately available.

After his arrest, the juvenile was taken to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office to wait for a parent, and the Iowa Department of Human Services was contacted.

Mujanic was booked into the Sioux County Jail. Additional court proceedings are pending.
