Sioux County local agencies submitted their funding requests to the Board of Supervisors.
Many local organizations across Sioux County receive funding from the Board of Supervisors including; The Sioux County Youth Fair, Sioux County RIDES, and Mid-Sioux Opportunity.
The Sioux County Youth Fair requested the same amount as last year to cover operating expenses. This year they are also requesting a camping permit, LeAnn Englin, President of the Youth Fair Board, lays out the camping request.
Mid-Sioux Opportunity serves Sioux County and the wider Northwest Iowa region through low income and affordable services including: Childcare, energy, and health and nutrition services. This year Mid-Sioux Opportunity requested $19,500 to help cover their costs.
Sioux County RIDES, a taxi-like program serving Sioux Center and Orange City, requested $10,000 also the same as last year. Associate Executive Director Cindy Voss describes who RIDES primarily serves and how they serve the greater community.
Sioux County Board of supervisors will meet again on March 3 to discuss the Agency Funding Requests further.
