An Inwood woman accused of multiple child endangerment charges has pleaded guilty to several of the allegations.
30-year-old Elizabeth Kainrath pleaded guilty on Wednesday, January 21, to six counts of child endangerment, each an aggravated misdemeanor.
According to court documents, as part of a plea agreement, Kainrath faces a possible two-year prison sentence, with all but fifty days suspended. The suspended portion would be served on probation.
Court records show Kainrath originally pleaded not guilty in April 2025 to more than a dozen child endangerment charges. As part of the plea deal, several of those charges were dropped.
Kainrath was arrested on March 8, 2025, following an investigation by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say the investigation involved staff from Kingdom Kids Daycare and the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services.
As previously reported, deputies identified 14 separate incidents within about one hour and fifteen minutes where Kainrath allegedly acted aggressively and inappropriately with five different children at the Inwood daycare.
Kainrath was arrested without incident and held on a $31,000 cash bond, which she later posted.
In a statement at the time, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said Kingdom Kids Daycare acted promptly and professionally, and demonstrated a strong commitment to child safety.
A sentencing hearing for Kainrath is scheduled for Monday, February 23, 2026, at 10 a.m.
