An Inwood man has been arrested on a felony sex abuse charge following an incident that occurred in Rock Rapids in August.
According to a criminal complaint filed by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, 29-year-old Jesus Mata is accused of initiating sexual contact without consent. He was taken into custody on Monday and charged with third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony that carries a potential sentence of up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
As of the latest report, Mata remained in the Lyon County Jail in Rock Rapids on a $10,000 bond. No court dates have been set.
