Despite fierce competition from Democrat Rob Sand, Kaufmann believes people will turn out to vote for whoever the GOP nominates.
Kaufmann alleges Sand received 7 out of 8 million of his campaign funds last year from his in-laws.
Two Republican candidates recently lost in special elections in districts that Trump won and that was previously held by a Republican. Kaufmann believes these are unfortunate, but doesn’t think they should be used as a sign for how the midterms will go.
More Republican politicians and candidates were at the fundraiser including: Federal Congressman and IA governor candidate Randy Feenstra, IA Lt. Governor and state auditor candidate Chris Cournoyer, Federal Congresswoman and Senate candidate Ashley Hinson, and Florida Senator Rick Scott.
