A Hull woman was transported to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash in Sioux Center on Monday, January 5.
The Sioux Center Police Department reports the crash occurred around 5:10 p.m. on Highway 75 at 7th Street North. A 2015 Lincoln SUV driven by 21-year-old Jeremiah Kredit of Sioux Center was traveling northbound behind a 2011 Dodge SUV driven by 60-year-old Sandra Westra of Hull.
Police say Westra was stopped at the intersection for a red light when Kredit, who reported adjusting his volume and looking toward a nearby bank, failed to stop in time and struck her vehicle from behind.
The Sioux Center Ambulance transported Westra to Sioux Center Health Hospital.
Damage was estimated at $5,000 to Kredit’s vehicle and $4,000 to Westra’s. Kredit was cited for failure to stop within an assured clear distance.
