Hospers Progressing Toward Goal for New Fire and EMS Facility

The town of Hospers is closing in on its long-awaited goal of building a new $2.8 million facility for fire and EMS services—a project more than a decade in the making.

Fundraising began 18 months ago, and volunteers have already secured nearly $2.2 million. Organizers are looking to raise the final $500,000–$800,000 to break ground early next spring.

The new facility will sit just a block from the current one, which has been outgrown as call volumes rise—EMS handles 70–80 calls a year, while the fire department responds to 50–55.

The next big fundraiser, the Winter Extravaganza, is set for Saturday, February 21, 2026. The evening will feature an award-winning ventriloquist, a catered meal, and a raffle. Tickets—$125 per couple or $65 per person—go on sale on October 1st, with early bird drawings taking place on December 31st.

Updates can be found on the Hospers Fire and EMS Facebook page.
