A Hospers man was arrested on Friday, after an investigation by the Sioux County Sheriffs office
The investigation began on Thursday after Sioux County Communications received a report of an individual trying to break into a vehicle at O.K. One Stop in Hospers. Deputies discovered that a 2007 GMC Yukon XL was taken without the owner’s consent. The vehicle was later found disabled, smoking and abandoned; the suspects fled the area on foot. Hospers Fire and Hospers Ambulance were paged to make sure the vehicle did not start on fire.
The vehicle sustained an estimated $4,500 in damage.
Through the investigation, 18 year old Aydan Joslin of Hospers was identified as the person who took and drove the vehicle from O.K. One Stop. Joslin was arrested, and was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was charged with burglary of a vehicle, operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s licenses.
The incident remains under investigation.
