Late Wednesday morning, the Hospers Fire Department and ambulance responded to a call about a residential fire in Hospers.
According to a press release from Sioux County Emergency Management, all people were out of the building when the teams got there, but one person, who was in the house at the time the fire started, sustained a few injuries. The individual was taken to Sioux Center Health by the Sioux Center Ambulance.
The firefighters extinguished the fire using an interior attack. They stayed at the scene for about two hours to check for more hotspots and to conduct overhaul operations. The Sheldon and Alton Fire Departments and Sioux County Emergency Management assisted at the scene. The Granville Fire Department also assisted at the scene under an automatic aid agreement. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
