Highway 75 in Sioux Center Reopens for Winter

Highway 75 in Sioux Center is officially open to traffic for the winter, bringing welcome relief for drivers and downtown businesses after a busy construction season.

As of today, the highway now carries two lanes in each direction from 20th Street South all the way through downtown, before tapering back to one lane each way near Central Park and 5th Street North.

Sioux Center City Manager Scott Wynja says they’re thrilled to be at this point.

Wynja says the 2025 construction season exceeded expectations.

Drivers are urged to use extra caution as everyone adjusts to the new traffic patterns and to keep an eye out for pedestrians at crossings. Construction crews will be wrapping up some projects over the next week or so.

The City of Sioux Center is thanking residents for their patience — and offering a special shoutout to downtown businesses for their cooperation as construction took place right outside their front doors.
