Heavy Equipment Students Honored for Volunteer Spirit

Northwest Iowa Community College is celebrating a generous donation from Valley Pullers, Inc., recognizing the hard work and volunteer spirit of students in the Heavy Equipment Operation and Maintenance program.

During this year’s Thunder in the Valley event, held July 10th through 12th in Rock Valley, NCC students rolled up their sleeves and lent their skills to help make the event a roaring success. In appreciation, Valley Pullers presented a $3,000 gift to the college.

The donation will be split in two ways:
🔹 $2,000 will fund two $1,000 scholarships for students in hands-on technical programs like Diesel Technology, Welding, and Engineering Design—with priority given to Rock Valley residents.
🔹 The remaining $1,000 will go directly toward supporting the Heavy Equipment program itself.

Rich Rozeboom, President and Promotion Director for Thunder in the Valley, expressed heartfelt thanks, saying, “We’re especially grateful for the students and the instructor from the Heavy Equipment program, whose hard work and dedication play such a vital role in our success.”
