A Hawarden woman was injured Monday morning in a single-vehicle rollover accident north of Ireton.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the scene at 6:11 a.m. on Eagle Avenue, about a half-mile north of 440th Street, roughly three miles north of Ireton.
Authorities say Meyling Del Carmen Perez, 29, of Hawarden, was driving a 2004 Pontiac Vibe northbound when she struck a raccoon in the roadway. The vehicle then entered the west ditch and rolled, coming to rest there.
The Pontiac sustained an estimated $3,000 in damage.
Ireton Rescue transported Del Carmen Perez to Sioux Center Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Ireton Fire Department and Ireton Rescue.
