(KIWA) — A Hawarden man and a Spencer woman were flown to Sioux Falls hospitals following a two-vehicle crash near Ireton Tuesday morning, September 15. Both were in stable condition at last report, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The crash happened around 7:50 a.m. on Dipper Avenue, also known as County Road K22, about two miles south and three miles west of Ireton, near McNally.
The State Patrol says 37-year-old Derek Jungeward of Hawarden was driving a northbound 2015 Chevrolet when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2004 Ford pickup driven by 68-year-old Carmen Noteboom of Spencer. The collision occurred in the southbound lane.
Sanford AirMed transported Jungeward to Avera McKennan Hospital and Noteboom to Sanford University Medical Center, both in Sioux Falls.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office and Ireton Fire and Rescue assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
