The Hawarden Public Library has announced that they are once again a fully accredited, Tier 3 library. The Hawarden Public Library has met the conditions for state accreditation as outlined by the State Library of Iowa.
Hawarden Public Library Director Maddy Vlotho says this is not a new status for Hawarden.
She says that tier 3 is the highest standard libraries in Iowa can achieve.
Vlotho explained one of the requirements of being a tier 3 library.
She says the state library wants them to have a current, fresh collection. Vlotho says the tier 3 status shows that they are striving to make their library the best for the community.
Libraries need to reapply every three years to uphold their status.
