An air exchanger at Link Manufacturing was damaged in a fire on Monday morning, November 3, in northern Sioux Center.
According to Sioux Center Fire Chief David Van Holland, firefighters were called to the facility around 9:20 a.m. after reports of heavy smoke. Upon arrival, crews quickly located and extinguished the fire, which was confined to an air exchanger unit.
Because the fire was initially believed to involve the building itself, fire departments from Orange City, Rock Valley, and Hull were also paged. Once Sioux Center crews determined the situation was under control, those departments were told their assistance was not needed. The Ireton Fire Department did respond under an automatic mutual aid agreement.
Chief Van Holland says no injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire remains undetermined. Damage was limited to the air exchanger, and firefighters were on scene for about an hour.
