A Louisiana man was arrested in Tulip Festival takedown after evading many law enforcement agencies for four years. On Saturday (May 17th) at 12:58 pm, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kyle Backhaus, age 52 of Amite, LA.
The arrest stemmed from a tip that Backhaus, who had a nationwide arrest warrant, multiple other arrest warrants, and had been evading law enforcement for four years, would likely be working the carnival rides at the Tulip Festival in Orange City, IA.
Sheriff’s deputies wearing plain clothes coordinated efforts to locate, identify, and take Backhaus into custody.
Backhaus was transported to the Sioux County Jail where he was held on the warrants.
