Family Crisis Centers held a ribbon cutting on December 11 for its newly opened Visitation and Exchange Center, a facility designed to give children a safe, neutral space for supervised visits and custody exchanges—especially in situations involving foster care, domestic violence, or high-conflict relationships.
Executive Director Jessica Rohrs says the center is already strengthening the organization’s ability to support vulnerable children. Speaking on Sioux County Radio’s The Daily Grind in November, she said opening the space allows FCC to serve families more deeply.
The center includes monitored entrances, on-site security during visits, and safety protocols designed to prevent parents from interacting when there are no-contact orders or safety concerns. It also provides a consistent, structured option for supervised visitation.
Rohrs says interest is increasing now that construction is complete. She says judges, attorneys, and school counselors are already scheduling tours.
Rohrs says the goal is to reduce children’s exposure to conflict and help break cycles of generational violence. Find out more about the services provided by Family Crisis Centers on their website.
