Dordt Tops Iowa Christian College Rankings, Ranks 22nd Nationally

Dordt University has been named the #1 Christian college in Iowa and #22 in the nation, according to Niche’s 2026 rankings. The rankings, which are updated throughout the year, reflect both institutional data and student feedback to give a current picture of how Christian colleges serve their communities.

Niche combines public data from the U.S. Department of Education with millions of verified student and alumni reviews, considering academics, campus quality, student life, diversity, professors, value, and the local area. Rankings can shift as schools update information or more students provide feedback.

Derek Buteyn, Dordt’s Director of Students and Residence Life, says the recognition highlights the role students play in shaping campus culture. “They invest in a place where they can grow spiritually, build meaningful relationships, and pursue who God has called them to be,” Buteyn said. “Their residential experience is a lab — a place to explore ideas, worship together, join small groups, and have conversations that shape them into faithful servants impacting their communities.”

The ranking reflects Dordt’s commitment to a faith-focused education, preparing students to think critically, act with integrity, and serve in all areas of life.
