Dordt University plans to conduct a prescribed burn in the Dordt Prairie later this afternoon, weather and conditions permitting. The burn is part of Dordt’s ongoing prairie management efforts and will take place on the east side of campus.
The burn will begin shortly after 1 p.m. and is scheduled to be completed before a home soccer game at 4 p.m. For safety, community members are asked to avoid the burn area this afternoon. College administration and local authorities are aware that the controlled burn will be taking place.
