DNR Sets Public Meetings to Recap Hunting, Trapping Seasons

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is hosting a series of town hall-style meetings to provide updates on recent hunting and trapping seasons and discuss possible changes to rules and regulations. Todd Bishop, chief of the Iowa DNR’s Wildlife Bureau, encourages the public to attend, ask questions, and provide feedback on potential rule changes.

Local meetings will be held at the following locations:

  • Hinton: Feb. 18, 6:30 p.m., Dennis L. Sohl Center for Outdoor Learning, Hillview Recreation Area, 25601 C60
  • Spencer: Feb. 18, 6:30 p.m., Iowa Lakes Community College, 1900 Grand Ave. Suite B1, Entrance #1-West side of the North Mall
  • Okoboji: Feb. 20, 6 p.m., Maser Monarch Lodge, 22785 Nature Center Road

These meetings are open to the public, and comments collected will be considered before proposing changes to hunting rules and regulations. Proposed rules will be presented to the Natural Resource Commission for additional public comment.
