Division Street Reconstruction Planned in Hull for Spring 2026

The City of Hull is moving forward with plans for a major reconstruction project along Division Street, with construction expected to begin in the spring of 2026.

Hull City Administrator Heidi Kramer says the City hosted an informal, come-and-go informational meeting on Wednesday, December 17, for Hull residents, business owners, schools, and anyone interested in the project details. City staff and engineers from DGR Engineering were present to answer questions and explain the project’s scope.

Kramer says the meeting was meant to be informal and accessible.

She says the work goes well beyond new pavement.

The project includes installation of a new 12-inch water main, a significant increase from the existing four-inch line, along with updated sewer and storm infrastructure beneath the roadway.

Construction preparations are expected to begin in February, with active construction starting in April and continuing through the fall. The estimated schedule indicates that utility work and pavement removal will run from April through July, followed by base installation and concrete paving, with completion anticipated in October 2026.

The reconstruction will cover Division Street from Greenway Street east to the intersection of Fifth Street, skipping a section near Boyden-Hull schools that was completed during a previous project.

Kramer acknowledges the project will create disruptions, particularly for residents, businesses, and agricultural traffic that rely on Division Street, but says the city plans to stay in close communication throughout construction.

More information on the Division Street reconstruction can be found on the City of Hull’s website.
