The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Missouri man Saturday night after a 911 caller reported dangerous driving on Highway 18 east of Rock Valley. The call was made at 8:40pm, and when authorities located the vehicle, it was in the ditch and the driver, 32-year-old Jonathan Weinland of Winfield, MO was attempting to drive out of it, but had become stuck in the snow.
While investigating, deputies suspected Weinland was under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and brought to the Sioux County jail where he was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated – second offense.
Weinland was released Sunday after posting a $2,000 bond.
