Cold weather didn’t stop people from taking part in this past weekend’s 46th Annual University of Okoboji Winter Games.
Morgan Strauss with the Iowa Great Lakes Chamber says attendance numbers were right in line with previous years.
Despite cold conditions over the weekend, officials say this year was far from the coldest in the event’s history. One past Winter Games recorded an actual air temperature of minus 22 degrees.
Strauss also thanked the many volunteers and organizers who helped make the weekend a success and said planning is already underway for next year’s event.
The 47th Annual University of Okoboji Winter Games are scheduled for January 28th through the 31st, 2027.
