Concrete Worker Struck by Car

A Sioux Center man was taken to the hospital after being struck by a car in Sioux Center this morning (Wednesday, August 6, 2025).

The Sioux Center Police Department reports that at about 9:30 a.m., 24-year-old Lindsay Clark of Sioux City was driving a 2016 Honda northbound on 4th Avenue Northeast, when she hit 45-year-old Greg Schut of Sioux Center who was pouring concrete on the east side of the street. Though he had traffic cones placed on the roadway, the report says Schut was struck in the head and jumped out of the way after he was hit. Clark said she fell asleep, according to the police report.

The Sioux Center Ambulance took Schut to Sioux Center Health Hospital.

Clark’s Honda sustained $500 in damages. She was charged with failure to maintain control.
