A Siouxland agency that has helped survivors of sexual assault for more than 15 years is losing state funding for three area counties, forcing survivors to find help elsewhere starting next month.
Centers Against Abuse and Sexual Assault, also known as CAASA, says it lost nearly $100,000 a year in state funding for Woodbury, Plymouth and Monona counties.
The loss follows an appeal to the Iowa Attorney General’s Office that fell short.
