Board of Supervisors Approves Funding for Preventing Opioids

Community Health Partners requested $50,000 every year for the next 5 years to help their efforts in preventing and treating opioid addiction. Ryan Dokter, Director of Operations and Finance at Community Health Partners, lays out what their Community Care Coordination program is.

Dokter explains what the organization’s proposal was and what the board of supervisors approved in their proposal.

Public health includes more than treating current issues, it also includes preventing or treating them before they become a crisis. Dokter describes the importance of public health in preventing these issues.

The Sioux County Board of Supervisors approved $30,000 every year for 5 years of the $50,000 requested.
