Attorney General Bird discusses crime victim services in northwest Iowa

Iowa Attorney General Brenna Bird was in northwest Iowa today (Thursday) to hold a roundtable with the Sioux County Sheriff’s office to discuss crime victims’ services. Bird states it is important to meet with local law enforcement to keep victim’s rights at the forefront:

Bird went on to talk about how it is important to secure funding so that victims of domestic violence are taken care of.  Last year federal funding was cut to necessary programs helping victims. Bird and her office are working toward securing new funds from the federal government. The AG says the new administration understands how important this is:

Bird goes on to say that this funding is especially important to northwest Iowa, as the Sioux Center based Family Crisis Centers provide services to the entire state.
