43-Year-Old Man Injured in Sioux Center Rear-End Crash

A 43-year-old man was taken to the hospital following a rear-end crash in Sioux Center Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Sioux Center Police Department, the crash happened at about 5 p.m. at the intersection of 16th Street Southeast and Seventh Avenue Southeast.

The report says the man was driving a 2010 Nissan Rogue westbound and was stopped at the intersection’s stop sign. A westbound 2004 Ford pickup driven by a 45-year-old woman then struck the rear of the Rogue.

The man was taken by ambulance to Sioux Center Health with suspected minor injuries. The report lists three occupants in the Rogue. The woman was not injured.

Police estimated damage at $1,500 to each vehicle. The Ford was driven from the scene, while the Rogue was left at the scene.

The woman was cited for following too closely. The report did not identify either driver by name.
