Multiple injuries were reported in a two vehicle collision Sunday at the intersection of Highways 18 and 75 east of Rock Valley.
The Iowa State Patrol says 73-year-old James Kooima of Rock Valley was driving a 2019 Buick Envision northbound on Highway 75 and 63-year-old Gaylene Hultman of Cherokee was driving a 2018 Ford Edge southbound. Trooper say Kooima was attempting to turn onto Highway 18 when the two collided. The vehicle driven by Kooima then rolled once. Both vehicles came to rest in the southwest corner of the intersection.
Kooima was taken by ambulance to Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley; a passenger in his vehicle, 73-year-old Margene Kooima of Rock Valley, was transported by helicopter to a Sioux Falls hospital. Hultman was taken by ambulance to the Sioux Center hospital.
The collision took place shortly before 12 Noon.
