2025 HARVEST FESTIVAL SET FOR NEXT WEEKEND

With the 2025 Harvest Festival on the horizon, Sioux County Radio welcomed Harvest Festival Board Members, John Scholten and Larry Te Grotenhuis, to the Daily Grind to discuss the upcoming event.

A long-standing Harvest Festival tradition will continue as maid rites and root beer will be for sale at Doc’s Cafe. Plus, 16 schools will tour the Harvest Festival grounds on Friday (September 12th). Larry Te Grotenhuis encourages festival goers to bring apples and then collect some apple cider.

Te Grotenhuis says the Harvest Festival always has something new or changes from year to year.

Scholten says that Friday is typically meant for students to visit, but if you have the day off, they won’t turn you away. Due to ongoing construction, they have some updated instructions for parking.

Te Grotenhuis adds that they will be able to aid those who need a ride from the parking areas.

The 2025 Harvest Festival is free to attend as always and will feature many live demonstrations such as woodworking, rug weaving, Dutch Oven cooking, and more. Attendees can also tour the Blacksmith shop, schoolhouse, sawmill, and more.

The 2025 Harvest Festival will be held Friday, September 12th, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Saturday, September 13th, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at 701 Second Avenue SW in Sioux Center.
