2 Injured in Crash Near Orange City

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office responded to a three-vehicle crash Thursday morning, August 14th.

The crash happened at 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 10 and Indian Avenue, one mile west of Orange City.

The three vehicles involved were all traveling westbound on Highway 10.

The first vehicle, a 2024 Ford F-150 XLT, was driven by 59-year-old Glen Bonnema of Orange City. Behind Bonnema was a 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by 55-year-old Patricia De Kock of Orange City. The third vehicle, a 2022 Peterbilt semi pulling a tanker trailer, was driven by Justin Freese, a 50-year-old from Carroll.

Bonnema and De Kock slowed for a vehicle ahead of them, which was turning south onto Indian Avenue. Freese’s semi struck the rear of De Kock’s Chevrolet, causing it to hit the rear of Bonnema’s Ford F-150.

Freese was cited for following too closely.
