The Sioux Center Police Department has filed 13 felony forgery charges against a 56-year-old man.
According to court records, 56-year-old Leoncio Maldonado Maldonado was allegedly found to be in possession of fraudulent social security cards, multiple fake ID cards responding to forged Social Security cards, as well as birth certificates, a fictitious United States Permanent Resident Card, and a fake driver’s license. Authorities say Maldonado Maldonado admitted to using the documents, which featured various names but included his photograph, for the purpose of obtaining employment under multiple aliases.
Court filings indicate that each of the 13 forgery counts is a Class D Felony, punishable by up to a potential total of 65 years in prison, if convicted and if sentenced consecutively.
According to online court records, a Preliminary Hearing on the case is scheduled for 10:00 am on Tuesday, July 29th.
