Very warm to hot weather to continue across much of the Nation; rainfall to favor parts of the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for above-normal temperatures nationwide, with the hottest weather—relative to normal—stretching from the Great Basin eastward across the central Plains into the Ohio Valley and mid-Atlantic. Meanwhile, near- or above-normal rainfall across most of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions in parts of the Northwest.
