Tennessee corn planting surpasses halfway mark

Several good days for fieldwork helped speed up planting in Tennessee. The USDA says 63 percent of corn, 37 percent of soybeans, and 14 percent of cotton is planted. Pastures continue to improve, with 69 percent rated good to excellent. Topsoil moisture is 16 percent surplus, and subsoil moisture supplies have a 14 percent surplus.
