State ag directors take trade message to Kenya

The director of agriculture in Illinois says Africa holds tremendous trade potential for U.S. goods.

Jerry Costello tells Brownfield he and several other state directors of agriculture recently saw this firsthand in Kenya.

“According to what happens with biotech in Kenya, there’s probably the opportunity for maybe about half a million tons of grain to be exported from the United States into Kenya,” he says.

He says the livestock industry could also benefit.
