Seasonal heat, humidity to return; organized rain, storms to continue across the Heartland

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or above-normal temperatures nationwide, except for cooler-than-normal conditions in parts of the West.  Meanwhile, above-normal rainfall across much of the northern and eastern U.S. should contrast with drier-than-normal weather in New England and throughout the nation’s southwestern quadrant.
