President Biden’s newly-announced tariffs on Chinese goods goes beyond steel, aluminum, medical, and energy-related equipment, and U.S. food processors are calling it a partial victory.
Jason Culotta with the Midwest Food Products Association tells Brownfield that buried in the fine print, there are also 25% tariffs on eight Chinese canned vegetable varieties. “So it’s canned potatoes, canned peas, beans-shelled, green and wax beans, sweet corn, carrots, sauerkraut, and mixed vegetables.”
Culotta says a group of food processors traveled to Washington D.C.
