Indiana farmer says it’s the longest planting season on record

A southwestern Indiana farmer says his crops are all finally planted.
 
But, Mark Sieb tells Brownfield the stages vary.

“We’ve got corn anywhere from waist high to just now coming out of the ground but the population and everything has been extremely good of what’s come out of the ground crop is growing and moving along pretty nicely,” he says.

According to the latest crop report from the USDA, ​94 percent of Indiana’s corn has been planted, ​5 percent behind last year and ​3 percent ahead of the 5-year average.
